Alice Springs to Tennant Creek…

The only problem with staying in a nice hotel is that it’s hard to leave! Every other morning we have rolled out of bed and hit the road early. Today we enjoyed the soft bed and rain on the windows. Tonight we are back to reality 😀

We had a lot of rain on the way to Tennant Creek with the roads flooded in areas. NT is having unseasonal rain.

We haven’t been to Tennant Creek before and to be honest it is a culture shock for me. Lots of shops closed and those open have bars on the windows. I don’t want to be disrespectful though, as I am sure there is much I haven’t seen of the town and its culture. I have a feeling it is warming me up for what’s to come

View from our window of the East MacDonnelle Ranges under cloud brrr

Alice Springs has many beautiful murals…and one of our favourite flowers the Sturt Desert Pea. I had to pull over for this pic

Ready for another days drive-essentials for the passenger seat. Slippers, boots for wee stops, thermos of tea.

Unprecedented rain for May

These ant hills remind me of the Dream Time story Willy Willy and the ant man by Cecilia Egan.

Most of your pics have greenery which surprises me, I thought it would be flat and dry. I guess the locals are grateful for the rain. Take care and keep blogging…
