I take it back. Broome isn’t like Byron or Port Douglas. It’s just like Broome. I’ve heard of “Broome time”. I assume that is a reference to the shops that close so early, many having signs on them saying ‘closing time variable ‘ which is usually just before we arrived 😀
People love to have a chat and don’t try to convince you to buy their wares. I bought a bright cheery painting from a lady, “Goldie” today at the courthouse market, she was selling them for her daughter ReneeCliftonhttps://www.instagram.com/renee_clifton_art/?hl=en Goldie was more interested in having a yarn then selling and gave me her number in case I get lonely. It was the same when Rob bought a carved boab tree seed from Karlton. He was quiet and gentle, carving with a simple house knife.
Tomorrow we farewell Broome and say hello Fitzroy Crossing. We will do a quick detour via Derby and then I’ll get to see the place I’ll call home for the next 3 months.
