local community fun

It’s been a busy week in FX. I don’t think this is the norm.

It started off with a free exercise class on Monday night that the local police woman ran at the rec centre. I thought I’d go to be social and get a little fit. It was very tiring!! An excercise class followed by yoga and pilates. She was tough and I felt rude leaving after 1 class so stayed for both 😀 she will offer it again but it dependent on her shifts.

Wednesday we took the kids to “because of her we can” celebration at the school. It was lovely with lots of fun activities. Most family and community members attended.(image taken from fvdh FB)

Thursday night I was invited by some Baya Gawyi staff to go down to the rodeo set up. We went again Friday and they were desperate for bar token sellers so I volunteered to so this Sunday. I was also convinced to buy a cowgirl shirt and hat

Bush dying today on Dijawarumcountry by Sandra and Diane Chungal and her granddaughter Taliqua (8) who’s art work and energy was inspiring. All gave permission to share their photos.

Diane explained that their community, Bungardi is on Brooking Springs Station and that us how she got her surname. Their language group is Bunuba.
