When your friend comes all the way from country Victoria to FX for the weekend and you have to keep them entertained……
Friday afternoon. Pick Sam up from the tiny airport from the tiny plane

Take her to the art gallery- Monkajar, the IGA and a sunset walk…

..and then she wakes me up at 5.45 am Saturday morning to go and see a sunrise. Somehow I didn’t know first light is different to sunrise. Learn something new everyday.

By about 11am Sam was over reading and tranquillity so we headed to the lodge for lunch then picked up some work mates for a fish. Even though we caught nothing Sam was quite skilled unlike myself. Tuwarnah was not impressed that we brought ham for bait and no knife or net 😦

We were exhausted and had an early night. Today we got up early again. It was a lovely 33 degrees and headed out on the tunnel creek road to see the quarry. It was a pretty rough road and the old Ssangbong is only 2wd.

A guy at the quary told us we should head on up to tunnel creek. We didn’t want to go that far, but Sam really wanted to drive through the river crossing the guy talked about so on we went. We went past Leopold station where my mum and dad used to work and found the river crossing that had a heap of animals drinking at it. Cows, donkeys, horses and a mule. Good old Ssangbong made it through the crossing. Bit scary though

Finished off the day with a visit to the old Fitzroy crossing and then the Lodge for dinner. Sam has tired me out 😀 If you come and visit me. Spoiler alert. That’s all the highlights . Ps Sam said of all her trips, her top 3 are: Disney land as a child, then African Safari, then Fitzroy crossing. Just saying 😉
