I had my birthday this week in FX without family and friends. It’s the first time since we were married that I haven’t spent it with Rob. Rob had hidden a present in the car when he dropped me at FX which was a lovely surprise and the boys video chatted with me tonight. I didn’t even know how to do these filters but I must say they were very funny!!

It was hard, but my lovely old work friends sent me many messages and my new work friends got me a cake and took me on a Birthday sunset walk. I also had lots of lovely texts and fb messages. Technology is great!!

I am very lucky that there have been lots of community events this week to keep me busy when I am feeling lonely.
Last night we enjoyed the Mindi Rardi community Dance Festival. It was beautiful to see local people that we know dance.

Eva Nargoodah
I work with Eva Nargoodah, Walmajarri woman, and a bit of a local legend. (Person far right in photo above). Eva teaches us lots of cultural knowledge, along with being a famous well travelled artist, grandmother, singer…her skills and talents are enormous.
NAIDOC
Today the lower grades at school joined us to do some awesome NAIDOC day activities such as boab nut painting. Tomorrow we will go to the school to join them for more NAIDOC day celebrations.

Friday arvo I head with a new work friend to Halls Creek then a helicopter flight over and in to the bungle bungles on Saturday. I am excited but scared 😱
