The week that was

After work some of us dropped in to the radio station Wangki, next door , where they had a music open mike night and a sausage sizzle. I love how encouraging local mob are of each other. Don’t worry I didn’t sing. But a colleague Michele did. She is very talented.

Frog on the loose

Wednesday night I went for a shower and this beautiful green tree frog jumped out. I followed him to my room. He was like spider man. I eventually caught him with my new scarf and moved him safely outside. I now have a person house mate and a frog house mate. Very strange living with someone you don’t know when you have never done it before …luckily she goes out at night and me day..and she is a nice person.

Saturday-Gone fishing 🎣

I received an invite from a real fisherwoman with a four wheel drive and local knowledge. We went to donkey crossing which was a bit of a rough road but not too long. I was 100% sure I was catching a barramundi today. No such luck. One of our families came with us, they are Italian and haven’t fished before. The dad caught 2 cat fish, we caught zero. Great day though followed by a drink at the lodge.

Note to my house mate-who have I become? I’m sure it will wash off when I leave FX

Sunday drive to Tunnel Creek

Luckily the road has been graded since I took Sam along it. No animals at the water crossing this time, and I got to be a passenger. The tunnel was beautiful but a bit scary jumping in to dark water up to your chest with bats and fresh water 🐊 near by watching.

The start before it got dark and I got 😱

Wendy, how lovely to be visited by such a nice little green frog and not a snake!
Fishing sounds like fun but not catching anything is rather disappointing, lucky fish 🐟 i admire your braveness jumping into dark water with 🐊 Crocodile’s watching. Your pics are amazing of Tunnel Creek and I can see why you were so brave.
      Happy adventuring, Wendy 🐟🐊

      1. I too am glad it wasn’t a snake. I was told today that the snakes are active at the moment and there have been two snake bites in the hospitals flown out to Broome.
We work with Aboriginal seasons here and I did read the other day that the local olive python is getting active now, but it didn’t mention the deadly snakes ahhh
I look down carefully at tracks when i walk 🙂
